Hi friends this is my 2nd post as
Designer Spotlight for
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
The theme for this week is "It's a Frame Up" .
I created a
Shabby Chic style dresser using chipboard, beautiful Graphic 45 papers and a gorgeous Prima Frame !

Here are some closeup shots of my dresser.
I just love this frame from Prima ...it is so majestic !! I added Spellbinders Elegant ovals behind it to frame it again !The gorgeous vintage image I framed inside it is from Graphic 45's Time to flourish collection.
The white dove was made using air drying clay and a Plaid mold and looks perfect for the Shabby chic theme! Fortunately I had enough turquoise blue pearls to frame my Prima frame and add borders to my dresser!
Since the theme was "It's a Frame Up" I wanted to add more framed elements! So framed a gorgeous butterfly [ from Graphic 45 time to flourish again] in a bronze pendant and added a glass cabochon atop it! The little handbag was handmade using clay and a Plaid silicon mold.
The gorgeous framed rose was a snippet cut from Graphic 45 too. Dont you just love it when you can find a use for a snippet of gorgeous paper!
Hidden behind the frame is a clay "sand dollar" I had made ! I love anything to do with a beach and just couldn't resist adding this!
I used handles from Graphic 45 . I changed the look of all my metal embellishments [ dresser feet, metal draw corners and dresser handles] to suit the shabby chic mood by brushing on a bit of gesso over them.
My dresser is functional since I made it using thick chipboard!!
Here are some of the steps I used to make it...it's not a full tutorial just giving you an idea of the construction process!
I used several layers of chipboard to create my dresser.
Drew a shape to form the backdrop and accommodate my Prima frame. I cut out the dresser parts 3 times from medium weight chipboard and glued them to make thick sturdy parts.
Used masking tape to hold the pieces in place while they dried under heavy books!
Built up the dresser part by part using liquid adhesive and masking tape.
Lined the edges with strips of paper to give a polished smooth edge.
I hope you liked this idea.
