Watercoloring
Though I love making cards and other paper crafts I am not much of a coloring person...I somehow don't have much patience for it! But I loved this cute stamp I had won from Wild Rose Studio and so did a bit of coloring to make this purple die-cut laden card.
I am sharing purple creations to support Becca's commendable Hop to Stop Domestic Violence awareness campaign. I have been sharing small anecdotes and messages in my previous posts on this theme...In this card the little mouse is holding a gift. Victims of domestic violence need to most of all gift themselves the "right to feel happy and at peace"....you dont have to take the abuse for your child or your parents or anyone else....you too have a right to be happy and live in a peaceful home renovation .
Now coming to crafty advice ....Paper-crafting can become an expensive hobby if you allow it to and it is not surprising that a newbie often feels overwhelmed seeing all the expensive products and complicated techniques out there . A crafter recently asked me if we needed Copics to color images for card making or whether the much cheaper Faber Castell would suffice....well actually you can even use a set of ordinary crayons to create a beautiful card !!
Let me illustrate a simple point ...though I have the expensive Staedler Watercolor Pencils I somehow prefer the smoother flow of the much cheaper Faber Castell! So its not necessary that you will like an expensive product better!

And dont let my shoddy coloring skills make you think you need expensive stuff...drop by my friend Chrissy's blog and you can really see how she uses Faber Castell watercolor pencils to colors super gorgeous images!
Watercolored Wild Rose Studio Mouse on Blue bells stamp
I  used mowed lawn distress ink , water and a paint brush to add the greenery. The golden centers were created using liquid pearls. The image was cut using my favorite Wild Rose Studio Floral frame die who edges I heat embossed with Ranger's Frosted Crystal embossing powder and highlighted the texture with seedless preserve distress inks.

I have used layer upon layer of Marianne die cuts on this card...the beauty of these dies is how they are transformed by inking![Here is a post showing how to ink die cuts: 3 D Chariot Making]
