Snowman Telescoping Card |
I love making Christmas cards and was rather saddened that I didnt have many people to gift them to last year. When I was in my home renovation state of Kerala exchanging Christmas cards with friends and family was the norm even though we are Hindus.
In Kerala everyone tends to celebrate Christmas regardless of religion....and I have many fond childhood memories of decorating Christmas trees , waiting for the carol singers to visit our home renovation and delighting in seeing Santa [ some nights if we were lucky several Santas would visit us!]
In Bangalore , Hindu festivals are more popular and Christmas mostly means just decorated malls!
This year however I am thrilled because a couple of my daughter's teachers are Christians [ and incidentally from
Kerala too!] and so
Yeah we are making lots of Christmas cards this year!!!

This Telescoping Card/ tag is a design which was very popular a year or so ago and here is the
tutorial link. My little snowman tag is inspired by my friend
Julie's snowman tag set. My snowman's hat is hand-cut from corrugated paper and glamorized with a glittery snowflake die cut!

I love how it swings and expands! In case you are new to this design ...the swinging takes place at the brads / split pins holding the adjacent circles. The upper brad is hidden by my polka dotted bow with the pearl flower!
I also added silver sticker stars to my little snowman for a festive look!

My snowman's face is hand-drawn...and hehe yeah he is not perfect!

And that is how he can go like a floppy jelly when he swings on the brads to fold him up ! I also added a ribbon so that you can hang the snowman as a Christmas decoration
