Paper Daffodils tutorial |
Dear friends Thank you so much for the heartwarming response to my Easy Paper flower tutorial using the flower punch board.Sharing yet another paper flower tutorial- this time cheerful summery Daffodils.
Paper Holder |
I altered this box into a paper/ magazine holder to store some of my A 4 papers but my daughter has laid claim to it as she wanted the " magic " Daffodil flowers!!
Paper Daffodils |
In the picture above you can see the dimensional nature of the paper daffodils.Since I didnt have any pretty yellow paper I stamped and embossed regular chart paper to make my own pattern paper to create the Paper Daffodils.

The leaves were hand cut ,inked with distress ink, stamped with the same flourish stamp I used on the flowers and embossed.I couldn't resist adding a favourite Cheery Lynn Butterfly to keep the flowers company!

How to make the Paper Daffodils
Materials
- Flower Punch Board- Read more about it here: Easy flowers with Flower Punch Board
- Paper - good quality pattern paper or card stock ideal to get clean cuts with the flower punch board but you can also use chart paper like I did here
- Glue & Scissors
- Optional : Stamps , Inkpads , Embossing Powders , Diamond dust
- Take a 2 x 5 1/4 inch strip paper and punch a paper strip like you would do for a XXS flower but don't score the diagonals and only partially score the vertical scores as shown.
Paper Daffodil tutorial - Align the tips of the petals to the " S " line and score the strip.
Paper Daffodil tutorial - Bend the strip at the score line and snip off wedges as shown.
Paper Daffodil tutorial - Ink your petals if you desire and apply glue on one petal and stick to form a cylinder.
Paper daffodil tutorial - Apply glue on the folded wedges and stick on a 7 petal 4 inch diameter flower [XS flower] made with the flower punch board.
Paper flower tutorial - Use the slotted end of the shaping tool to gently evert the inner tube petals
- Make and stick a fringed paper flower to the center .I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix fringe die to make the fringed center of the flower but you can easily handcut a fringed flower like I did in this Large Paper Flower tutorial .
